Awareness on Men's Breast Cancer

When it comes to Breast Cancer patient, your first thought for sure will be a woman. I didn't know, that there are some cases like this. I start being curious about Men having Breast Cancer when i watch Korean Drama Jealousy Incarnate "Don't Dare to Dream". I also did not know that the story will be about a men having breast cancer. Because before i start to watch another Korean Drama, i will search about plot of the story but this drama, surprised me that there are cases like that.

What is Breast Cancer to Men?

A breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts from cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cancer cells that may grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. Cells in nearly any part of the body can become cancer, and can spread to other areas of the body.

Breast cancer occurs mainly in women, but men can get it, too. Many people do not realize that men have breast tissue and that they can develop breast cancer.

Symptoms

In men are similar to those in women. Most male breast cancers are diagnosed when a man discovers a lump on his chest.

But unlike women, men tend to delay going to the doctor until they have more severe symptoms, like bleeding from the nipple. At that point, the cancer may have already spread.

Diagnosis and Treatment

The same techniques that are used to diagnose breast cancer in women are used in men: physical exams, mammography, and biopsies (examining small samples of tissue under a microscope).
Likewise, the same treatments that are used in treating breast cancer in women -- surgery, radiation, chemotheraphy, biological therapy, and hormone therapy -- are also used to treat breast cancer in men. The one major difference is that men with breast cancer respond much better to hormone therapy than women do. About 90% of male breast cancers have hormone receptors, meaning that hormone therapy can work in most men to treat the cancer.

I search this because i want to spread the awareness of Men havinh Breast Cancer to those didnt know about this case.

History of Siniloan

HISTORY OF SINILOAN

Siniloan is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. It lies between the plains of Sierra Madre Mountain and the Laguna de Bay, bounded on the North by the town of Famy, on the West by Mabitac, on the East by Pangil and on the South by Laguna Lake. It has a total land area of 6,442.88 hectares politically subdivided into 20 barangays. Siniloan was established as a town on the last Friday of August, 1583 with Guiling-Guiling as its first name born out of an anecdote when a group of Spaniards passed by a rice field where some women were grinding rice with the use of grindstone or "gilingang bato". In 2002, the Municipality launched "Gilingan Festival" to commemorate its foundation day highlighted by street dancing and a variety of cultural shows and activities. Siniloan is known as the center of education, commerce and transportation, serving towns in eastern Laguna and some towns from the provinces of Quezon and Rizal. The municipality has active business and trade activities.

In 1583, Siniloan came to be as a town. THis was the year when Don Juan de Salcedo came to this place and the parish waas established jointly by Fr. Diego de Orpesa and Fr. Juan de Palencia. The first stone church was erected in 1733 bu a Franciscan Friar, Fr. Melchor de San Antonio.

From the early period of Spanish colonialization, some female inhabitants of the place were milling their palay in their fields. While doing doing this, some Spaniards came and asked them, "Como se llama esta pueblo?" The natives, not knowing Spanish thouight that they were asked what they were doing and so one of them answered, "kami po ay gumigiling". The Spaniards reapeated, "Guiling-Guiling", to which the natives nodded. Som this place known as "GUILING-GUILING" from 1583 to 1604.

Another story has it that during the later part of the year 1604, three brothers, namely, Juan Puno, Juan Pili, and Juan Puhuwan, migrated into this community. They selected a lot adjacent to the river and divided it equally among themselves. When the parish priest saw the ingenuity of the three brothers in uqually dividing the land, he asked the natives how equally was expressed in Tagalog. The natives gave him the expression "Sinloan". Right then and there, the name Guiling-Guiling was change to SINILOANG which meant justice, equality and fairness. The word travelled from mouth to mouth with sound variations. Because of the difficulty of some Spaniards in pronouncing SINILOANG, the name SINILOAN struck and became the official name of this town.

The name SINILOAN is also believed to have been taken from a legendary story about Luis and Ana, a married couple who chased a wild bear from a place called Luisiana. They ran after that big boar from Luisiana to Cavinti (kapit sa Binti). The People along the way who saw Luis and Ana Chasing the boar took pity on them and helped them catch the boar. The people chased the boar through the town of Lumban, Kalayaan, Longos, Paete, Pakil, and Pangil until they finally caught the boar in this town by means of the lassoed captivity or SINILOAN.
